Revanti joined the India School of Dance, Music & Theatre back in 2022 as an instructor in Kathak and Bollywood. She began dancing at the age of 6 under the guidance of Padma Shri Guru Rani Karnaa, a disciple of Pandit Birju Maharaj, and received twelve years of training in both the Jaipur and Lucknow Kathak gharanas. She has also explored Bollywood and Indo-Bollywood fusion dance.
Born and raised in Kolkata, Revanti grew up surrounded by dance, with her mother also being a dancer. Dancing became a natural calling, and continuing this tradition has remained deeply meaningful to her.
After completing her undergraduate degree in Biotechnology, Revanti moved to Winnipeg in 2021 and completed her MSc in Biosciences, specializing in cancer research. She currently works at the Paul Albrechtsen Research Institute.
For the past 4 years, Revanti has been teaching and performing at cultural events and production shows across Winnipeg. She is passionate about sharing her love for Indian dance and inspiring the next generation to connect with and carry forward this beautiful tradition.
