Recital XLI will be held on Sunday June 18th, 2023 at 1:00pm at Gas Station Arts Centre
India School of Dance, Music and Theatre will close for Term 1 on November 19th, 2022, followed by a holiday break.
Classes will resume for Term 2 on Saturday, January 14, 2023 for beginners in music and Bharatnatyam. Classes resume on Sunday, January 15, 2023 for intermediate and advanced music students in Hindustani music, all Kathak, and all Bollywood students. Please Contact your teachers for exact details on your classes.

In the last four decades the India School has proven to be a leader in the Arts. From 1987, with the Prix Manitoba Award for outstanding work in the field of multiculturalism to the First Community Leadership Award by the Asian Heritage Society in 2019.
We provide instruction in the following Dance and Music Subjects:
Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced levels in preparation for festivals and Folklorama
Classes and workshops in Vocal and Instrumental Music.
The mission of the India School of Dance, Music & Theatre Inc. is the preservation and promotion of the visual, literary and performing arts of India for all Manitobans. This is achieved by teaching, showcasing and sharing our resources with the community.

The India School of Dance, Music & Theatre Inc. has long-standing roots that intertwine with those of Folklorama. In fact, the idea of the South Asian training institute to teach students and showcase artists began in the seventies because of Folklorama.
The India School of Dance, Music & Theatre Inc. believes that every interested person in the Arts has a right to be to be part of The creative process of enlightenment, (research and scholarship), and be provided the opportunity to share their gifts, (talents and work), with all Canadians and the world.
Our passionate and dedicated instructors are the heart and soul of our institution.
Born into a musically gifted family, it was natural for Jaya to be immersed into music and dance. With much dedication and hard work, Jaya has developed into an accomplished dancer and teacher over the past twenty years.
Shavira began taking Kathak lessons at the India School of Dance, Music & Theatre in 2004. After five years of training, she completed her Aradhana, or graduation, with five other dancers as India School’s and Manitoba’s first group to do so in the style of Kathak.
Tamarah is a passionate and dedicated young woman in her studies and community commitments. Tamarah began her dancing journey at the age of 9 in the classical Indian dance art form, Kathak.
From small beginnings of only 25 students, the India School now accommodates well over 150 students and teachers.
